Pennsylvania is a must-win state for Democrats if they want to take back the House, CBS Pittsburgh money and politics editor Jon Delano told CBSN Tuesday.

In Nebraska, the marquee race is within the state's 2nd Congressional District, which Hillary Clinton narrowly misplaced to Donald Trump within the 2016 election. U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta had paid little attention to his Republican rival, state Rep. Jim Christiana, during the primary campaign. His victory sets up a showdown with two-term Democratic Sen. Trump asked Barletta to run for Senate and is expected to campaign for him. Notably, Trump's approval rating has sunk to just 39 percent in Pennsylvania, compared with 55 percent disapproving of the president's performance, according to an April Muhlenberg/Morning Call poll. Republicans control the Senate, 51-49, and defeating Casey would give Republicans one more pro-Trump vote to help advance the president's agenda. "They say I can't beat Bob Casey, and I'm going to beat Bob Casey". Barletta has lagged in the fundraising race, collecting almost $1.3 million in 2018's first quarter and ending with $1.6 million on hand, compared to Casey's almost $10 million on hand. Casey is a strong critic of the president.

Barletta, who was elected in the tea party wave of 2010, has taken a hard line on immigration in the Senate.
