In the last forty-four years, there have been only eight days in which he did not eat a Big Mac - most recently, on 23 November 2000.

WBAY-TV reports that 64-year-old Don Gorske of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin recorded the milestone at a local McDonald's on Friday (Saturday NZT).

Gorske typically eats 14 Big Macs each week, purchasing them in bulk and microwaving them at home, according to the Guinness book.

This record means that he has eaten at least one Big Mac per day since 1972. Gorske says he just loves hamburgers. The first time, he drove to McDonald's during a snowstorm and discovered it was closed. Alfie Evans' Father Shares Devastating News About His Son
Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool took Alfie off life support on Monday with the permission of the UK's High Court. It added: "All of us feel deeply for Alfie , Kate, Tom and his whole family and our thoughts are with them".

Gorske has obsessive compulsive disorder and a strong memory for detail, which have been factors in his meticulous documentation of his hobby - he has calculated that he took just 356 days to eat his first 1,000 Big Macs. In 2003, Ellen DeGeneres asked him to get his cholesterol checked, and it was 140.

The Big Mac fan's television appearances include the "Rachel Ray Show", "Jimmie Kimmel", "Lopez Tonight", "I've got a Secret", "Oprah" and "Inside Edition".

If he continues at the pace he's been eating, Don predicts that he'll eat his 40,000th Big Mac in 2032, when he'll be 78. He was featured in the movie "Supersize Me". "She requested I not eat a Big Mac on the day she died, in remembrance of her", he said.
