After coming from the United Kingdom to South Africa in 1999, Mike and Chrissy Hodge started off with their Lion project in 2003 out on a farm 30kms from Thabazimbi. The lion came pouncing upon Hodge who tried making a run to the gate, but he was grabbed by the lion's paws before he could escape.

Pictures shows Mr Hodge smiling in his hospital bed despite his injuries, with a friend telling The Sun that he is recovering from the dramatic ordeal.

The owner, Mike Hodge was rushed to hospital with injuries to the neck and jaw following the shocking incident caught that was caught on camera.
