The Baltimore Ravens announced Wednesday they agreed to a one-year contract with RGIII. After Griffin took a visit to another team, Baltimore then struck a deal with the former Heisman Trophy victor late Tuesday. "He had a really good workout".

The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Joe Flacco is a long-established starter at quarterback for Baltimore but Griffin will be in the mix as their back-up and could get his chance if Flacco falters or picks up an injury. After the Browns released him after one year in 2016, he was out of football for the entire 2017 season. The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens' current backup quarterback Ryan Mallett is headed to free agency. "He's a very talented quarterback who has had a lot of success in this league early on". "This moves makes us better".

"I felt like (Griffin) really wanted to be here". Head coach John Harbaugh had this share about the Ravens' newest teammate. The Baylor product lays claim to a 63.3 percent career completion percentage, 8,983 passing yards, 42 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. Injuries suck, but here's to hoping Griffin's stint with the Ravens is much more promising. Eventually, he lost his starting job and was cut by the franchise. He came off injured reserve to start four more games, but threw for just 886 yards and tossed two touchdowns to three interceptions (72.5 quarterback rating).

"I felt like he wanted to be a Raven", Harbaugh said.

He spent 2016 with the Browns, only playing in five games because injuries struck again.
