Twelve years later, and reportedly with the "blessing" of the Browns and Goldmans, the chilling and at times freakish interview has aired as part of a two-hour Fox special "OJ Simpson: The Lost Confession?".

Over more than a decade under the veil, a controversial 2006 interview with O.J. Simpson finally aired on Sunday.

Having been burned (rightfully so) once before with this O.J. mess, this time around Fox tried to present this special - a repugnant exploitation of the murder of two people - as a teachable moment.

Regan was due to publish Simpson's book If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer in 2007 but it was dropped along with the TV interview after outrage from the victim's families and Regan was sacked.

A more than 10 year-old interview in which O.J. Simpson gave a hypothetical account of how he might have murdered his ex-wife fired up social media, but Americans proved more interested in watching the return of "American Idol", television ratings data on Monday showed.

Philippe Coutinho: 'Ousmane Dembele is a great player'
Cristiano Ronaldo scored both goals for Real Madrid as Los Blancos were pushed to their limits late on by eighth-place Eibar. Citing "personal reasons", the Barcelona ace had pulled out of the squad for the game against Malaga on Saturday.

In the interview with Regan, Simpson talked about how he would have committed the murders "if he were the one responsible".

"Well, it certainly supports my belief that the gloves fit", Darden said in an interview afterwards with TMZ.

Twitter reacted fiercely to The Lost Confession special, calling out everything from O.J.'s switchover into the first person to Christopher Darden's oversized tie.

He then goes quiet before he is said to laugh again, adding: "I'm sorry, I tend to keep my kids out of everything as you may notice".

Asked to elaborate, he replies: "Blood and stuff".

Tillerson: US commitment to Africa "quite clear"
At the press conference, Tillerson said he had "a very good exchange" with Ethiopian officials about counterterrorism efforts. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson discussed global trade and Chinese investment on the second of his six day tour in Africa.

"I don't know why he had been by Nicole's house, but he told me, 'You wouldn't believe what's going on over there.' And I remember thinking whatever's going on over there, it's gotta stop", says Simpson. Sunday night and Simpson took time to reveal what happened on June 12, 1994 to the host of the program, Judith Regan.

Comic Jim Norton, whose show now streams on Netflix, chimed in with, "For someone being hypothetical, OJ sure says, "I remember." a lot".

He alleges that outside the house, he was confronted by Goldman and, soon after, by Brown, who fell and hurt herself. After they arrived, Goldman showed up, and O.J. described him as "a guy that I didn't really recognize".

"The next day I called him back and he said he was willing to do it".

"I had a friend text me last night and say, 'Remind me never to play poker with Judith Regan, ' because, she said, I kept my poker face throughout the interview", she said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also strongly disapproved incidents of vandalism, reported from several parts of the country. Police on Tuesday said that Muthuraman was suspected to be a BJP worker and Francis was believed to be a CPI activist.

"I think it should be seen, this interview", he said. "In case he's reading this, I don't want him to hypothetically murder me too", said Eric Stangel, the longtime executive producer and head writer at Letterman. "Can you look through it?'" Wrong said. He was paroled in October.
