Lappartient calls for Team Sky investigation, team will 'welcome any review'

The pressure on Team Sky intensified last night when the most powerful man in cycling demanded an investigation into the doping allegations that have been levelled against them. But Lappartient said it would be a disaster if he was at the Tour de France start line with the case still unresolved.

Team Sky are facing an investigation by cycling's world governing body into what its president has described as "unacceptable" practices.

Team Sky say they would welcome a UCI inquiry into the findings of a Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) select committee.

Team Sky and Wiggins have both issued statements to "strongly refute" the report's conclusions.

The committee published their report into "Combating doping in sport" and the UCI claimed that the report - insofar as cycling was concerned - supported and reinforced their concerns about the potential abuse of TUEs, particularly with respect to corticosteroids.

"I've never seen anything like that. It's not my experience within the team that that's how the team operates,"he said".

NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen heads to Broncos
He also comes to the National Football League without the red flags like LSU's Arden Key, who I heavily considered at this spot. This is a very talented and deep group of running backs, and some natural separation was going to happen at the Combine.

"They (Team Sky) had at the time the TUE agreement but now we have the evidence that it seems to be organised", added Lappartient.

Lappartient told the BBC: "If you are using substances to increase your performances, I think this is exactly what is cheating".

Before three Grand Tours Wiggins had obtained therapeutic use exemption (TUE) forms, effectively a doctor's note, to allow him to take triamcinolone, which would usually be banned.

The government report, which said there was no violation of the World Anti-Doping Agency code, also accused Sky and British Cycling of "serious, unprofessional, and inexcusable" behaviour in failing to keep proper medical records.

Landis said Brailsford had to take ultimate responsibility for any drugs taken by Team Sky cyclists.

" "I don't know what the authorities will do about Team Sky", Landis said, "but they kicked me out and took my title for taking steroids, so the same should happen to Wiggins".

'Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4' Seemingly Confirmed By GameStop Listing
Images from Gamestop's internal database found their way to Call of Duty fan site, Charlie Intel . One player is chosen to be the infected, and his goal is to infect other players by downing them.

"A mistake is something you have done without intention to be wrong", said Lappartient.

Froome says Sky are "very different" to what was said about them in the MPs' report, a view echoed by Thomas.

"They need to explain it all to everybody", the Australian, who had a key coaching role at Team Sky from 2010-13, told Sky Sports.

Did Team Sky use drugs for medical reasons or was there a darker objective? "I just saw the article from a certain [outlet], it said, "You have to tell the truth.' Well, it seems that it was not the truth, if I correctly understand what is behind this".

The 55-year-old must have realised his mistake in the break (slash when the producers told him), and he was forced to clear things up when they came back on air.

Meanwhile, Lappartient also has four-time Tour de France victor Chris Froome in his sights after the Briton returned an adverse drug test result during his Vuelta a Espana victory in September.

Chelsea's 'crime against football' as City break new PL mark
Pep Guardiola's Man City have not faced many teams willing to go toe to toe with them this season. Chelsea finished 15 points ahead of City last season in romping to the league title.

"I'm not sure we can have the decision before May's Giro d'Italia - I hope we can have it at least before the Tour de France in July because, can you imagine if he's riding the Giro and with spectators crying against him, or if at the end he's disqualified from the Giro - that's something hard for our sport".
