At last night's Oscars ceremony, comedian-cum-writer-director Jordan Peele walked away with a statuette for penning the year's Best Original Screenplay, his terrifying, funny, hyper-timely horror flick Get Out. Not only is he the first African-American to receive nominations in the writing, directing and best pictures category but also the first one to win Best Original Screenplay - and on his directorial debut, at that.

For his part, Peele hilariously tweeted, "I just won an Oscar". The script for Get Out, which was also nominated for best picture, beat out Lady Bird, The Big Sick, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and The Shape of Water.

Chelsea's 'crime against football' as City break new PL mark
Pep Guardiola's Man City have not faced many teams willing to go toe to toe with them this season. Chelsea finished 15 points ahead of City last season in romping to the league title.

"I've been at this a long time", said Deakins, a 14-time nominee. I want to invite you to open your hearts and your feelings to feel the reality, to feel love. More Oscar history was made with the original screenplay award, as 89-year-old James Ivory became the oldest victor in any category for Call Me by Your Name, a story about young love adapted from Andre Aciman's 2007 novel.

When asked about the importance of the awards and big accolades he said, "I didn't know how important it was". "I love all, thank you so much goodnight". But with the songwriting team's Oscar win for best song for "Remember Me" from the animated film "Coco", Lopez became the first person to earn the EGOT twice. The film was nominated in three other categories but did not score wins - but that's okay, because history was still made.

Nine civilians killed in Saudi-led air strike attacks in Yemen
Saudi Arabia has been leading a mostly Arab military coalition to fight the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen since March 2015. The council then put to vote the Russian-drafted text, which won unanimous support of the 15 members of the council.

This year's Academy Awards was a bit different from those in the past.

We got Keegan leaving Spago in Bev Hills Sunday night and wanted to get his take on his buddy, Jordan, bringing home the Best Original Screenplay statue for "Get Out". McDormand used her acceptance speech to praise all the women nominated.

Gosling stuns Newcastle to snatch draw for Bournemouth
Bournemouth found a lifeline 10 minutes from time, as Adam Smith scored with a thumping effort. It was a massive 20 minutes for us and all credit to the players for delivering as they did".

Do you think Peele deserved to win over the likes of Nanjiani, Gerwig and del Toro? In his escape, he ends up killing most of the family, and starts to strangle his evil girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams), but stops as his pal Rod arrives in a police auto.
