Mozilla, Vimeo, States Sue FCC in Bid to Save Net Neutrality

Today, the CPUC filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit a Petition for Review of the FCC's decision to repeal net neutrality rules on the grounds that the decision is arbitrary, capricious, and an abuse of discretion.

The FCC December order also seeks to preempt states from imposing their own net neutrality rules. The agency took the requisite formal step of publishing the rules on Thursday, and lawsuits are on tap from a number of state attorneys general and advocacy groups. Among the states that have filed charges are California, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
