"Although 2018 CB is quite small, it might well be larger than the asteroid that entered the atmosphere over Chelyabinsk, Russia, nearly exactly five years ago, in 2013", said NASA's Paul Chodas. Last year, more than 2,000 previously unknown near-Earth asteroids were discovered, according to Chodas.

"Although 2018 CB is quite small, it might well be larger than the asteroid that entered the atmosphere over Chelyabinsk, Russia, nearly exactly five years ago, in 2013", he added.

Called asteroid 2018 CB, the space rock will shave by our planet at around 2230 GMT, the United States space agency said.

Time Warner quarterly revenue rises 9pc
As per Friday, November 27, the company rating was maintained by M Partners. (NYSE: TWX ) on Thursday, November 5 to "Buy" rating. At the same time as, it has debt to equity ratio of 0.85 and similar long term debt to equity ratio was 0.80.

NASA said 2018 CB will safely pass the Earth at a distance of 39,000 miles, pretty close by space standards. That's less than one-fifth the distance to the moon. Small asteroids pass between the planet and the moon several times a month.

On January 6, an asteroid passed within 1,14,000 miles (1,83,000 km) of the earth.

The asteroid is estimated at about 50 feet to 130 feet in size, possibly a little larger than the asteroid that exploded over Russian Federation five years ago this month.

TTP bombing kills 11 troops in Swat Valley
Swat, a tourist spot located in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , is also known as the "Switzerland of Pakistan". The injured were later shifted by rescue officials to a hospital in Saidu Sharif area of Swat, according to government sources.

2018 CB isn't a mass-extinction type of asteroid, though it's an interesting one for astronomers. After all, it's not every day that a space rock flies this close to the Earth, and scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Cañada Flintridge say there is no chance it will impact the planet.

That was the case at Chelyabinsk, Russia on February 15, 2013; the incoming object - an intense fireball as it entered the atmosphere - caught everyone by surprise.
