TTP bombing kills 11 troops in Swat Valley

The atmosphere remained gloomy in Kabal tehsil of Swat on Sunday a day after the suicide attack at the army sports area. The Taliban also warned more attacks in near future.

The attacker had targetted the sports area of the armed forces' unit in the Shareefabad area of the tehsil.

These range from banning coal, iron, lead, textiles and seafood to capping crude-oil and refined petroleum products' imports. Several unnamed multinational oil companies are also said to be under investigation for trade in petroleum products.

The powerful explosion, which rocked the surrounding area, occurred in the Kabal region of Swat, a picturesque valley in the northern part of the country. The injured were later shifted by rescue officials to a hospital in Saidu Sharif area of Swat, according to government sources. The operation involved evacuating 2 million people from the valley.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has strongly condemned the suicide attack, the prime minister's office said.

Zuma's fate to be decided today
A special sitting of the national working committee has been convened on Monday to take a decision on the way forward. He added that the best way to handle it was to engage with Zuma in order to show him they were not "booting him out".

He added that the coward enemy can not fight with Pakistan's valiant soldiers and such cowardly acts can not deter the country's resolve for the elimination of terrorism. "No cowardly attack can deter us in pursuing our struggle against the menace of terrorism to its logical conclusion", he said.

Swat, a tourist spot located in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is also known as the "Switzerland of Pakistan".
