Sony has announced that the beta for the PlayStation 4's next major system software update 5.50 has begun rolling out today, which means you should probably check your email if you previously signed up to participate in the test.

The introduction of the Play Time Management feature seems to be the highlight of the update, letting family members track the play time of the child family members on PSN.

The new Play Time Management feature will let family managers and others set as guardians keep tabs on their child's playtime each day.

Notifications will be sent to children during gameplay so that they know when they should save and quit. The kid will get notifications, so they know how long they have to save their game before playtime is over.

Kashmir issue imperative for regional, global peace & stability: Ayaz Sadiq
The CM assured the Kashmiri people that the people of Pakistan will never abandon their unflinching support for them. He added that the Pakistani government wanted to stop him from raising the Kashmir issue.

While most of these features in Update 5.50 will be seen as solid improvements to the PS4, it's likely a lot of fans will argue that Sony still has some work to do. Now it is. Users can put their own images on a USB stick and set it as a wallpaper. Once imported, you can even zoom, crop and preview them in-situ to help get the ideal look on your dashboard.

Additional features include Quick Menu improvements that add shortcut buttons for media controls and access to individual friends, as well as customization options for team pages in Tournaments. But perhaps the headline addition is a supersampling mode on PS4 Pro. Side benefit: that way you can see at a glance what games you'll lose access to if your PS Plus subscription ends, which is both practical and a clever little way for Sony to say "you sure you wanna cancel that sub?" The Headset Companion app remains compatible, allowing players to load custom audio modes to enhance the audio in select games. If your PS Plus membership has expired, a lock icon will appear next to the game showing that you'll be unable to play until you've re-subscribed to PS Plus.

The holiday quarter was pretty big for the PlayStation 4: Sony affirms that strong hardware and software sales drove up its Games and Network Services segment sales by 16% year-over-year, and that it shipped 9 million PS4s during the season, or more than both of its previous quarterly shipments combined.

Two new tabs have been added to the library to make navigation easier.

Trump rolls out new policy to modernise nuclear arsenal
He said the idea that the United States would revert to a nuclear attack in response to a simple cyber attack was inaccurate. Selva, the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the review was consistent with US policy dating back decades.

PS4 Pro owners will receive a "supersampling mode" which will enable those with HDTVs (1080p or less) to experience enhanced visuals in PS4 games. Speaking of tunes, the next firmware upgrade will allow players to listen to background music of their choice when streaming games through PlayStation Now.

Users will be able to permanently remove old notifications from their PS4 - for better organisation and management.

"Please note performance will vary, as games are optimised differently to take advantage of the power of the PS4 Pro".
