Government shutdown ends, temporary solution reached

President Donald Trump has said he will end it by March 5.

It's not the senators' desired policy outcomes that are far apart. Businesses report that DACA recipients are vital to our economic future.

Other provisions blocked beneficiaries from sponsoring relatives to come to the United States, which the Trump administration calls "chain migration" and the president is firmly against. But his order was recently held up by a federal court, protecting DACA recipients while a lawsuit from supporters is pending.

But immigration is an issue with an outsized impact on Texas's border and burgeoning Latino population, and the two senators' approaches couldn't be more different.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Wednesday the framework amounted to a "compromise" that could pass both the House and Senate, which have in recent weeks appeared far apart on a solution for DACA, the executive order protecting young immigrants who came to the US illegally as children, which President Trump rescinded with a March 5 deadline. "We encourage the Senate to bring it to the floor".

Trade is of the opinion that had there been no commotion, the first day numbers could have been more than Rs 30 crore. Looks like, the hard work of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the team of " Padmaavat " has paid off.

The group mostly agreed the Democrats using an impending government shutdown as leverage to force a vote on DACA was the right course of action. The commitment from Majority Leader McConnell is for any bipartisan immigration proposal to go through the committee hearing process, debate on the Senate floor, and an open amendment process.

The Monday agreement would allow members of both parties to offer amendments on an immigration overhaul - something lawmakers in Washington have repeatedly attempted and failed to pass in the past.

Including funding for a border wall in immigration reform talks could push away liberal Democrats from supporting long-term funding, but attract conservative Republicans to getting behind a deal.

"I've been through a couple immigration fights before, they are emotional and there's a lot of attention and a lot of intensity involved", Cornyn said.

He has praised the House enforcement bill, though he also has said numerous provisions could be delayed until "phase two" of an immigration debate.

About 4 in 10 people, or 39 percent, think Democrats in Congress are responsible for the shutdown, which began early Saturday morning after Senate Democrats, citing insufficient progress on negotiations over the fate of young immigrants covered by the DACA program, withheld their support for a deal. Cruz's comments Monday were the first televised remarks he'd offered on an issue that played prominently in his presidential campaign.

"I'd like to leave no doubt as to where the President stands on the Flake-Graham-Durbin agreement on immigration reform", said White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, referring to a bipartisan DACA plan worked out by six Senators last week. "That isn't leadership, and it's doing nothing to help lift up Americans, who deserve a functioning government". In exchange, the bill would crack down on sanctuary cities, require businesses to verify their workers' legality, cut back on abuse of the asylum system and allow faster deportation of new and repeat illegal immigrants.

While our Kevin McCarthy found the time to assign a staffer to sort through and pick out all of the pink and red Starburst sweets as a gift for Trump, he apparently did not have time to meet with Dreamers who traveled all the way from California to speak to him.
