Pakistani Soldiers martyred in Indian Cross Border firing, PM Khaqan condemns

Pakistan on Monday summoned Indian envoy and strongly condemned unprovoked ceasefire violations at Line of Control by the Indian occupation forces, in which four Pakistani soldiers were martyred earlier in the day.

The Pakistani army's publicity wing, the Inter Services Public Relations, however, confirmed the death of only four soldiers and claimed to have killed three Indian jawans. Separately, addressing Army members at an event of the 70th Army Day, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat warned Pakistan+ to not compel India to step up its military offensive.

Sources said the Pakistani troops resorted to sudden mortar shelling and small arms fire on forward Indian positions along the LoC in Dehri Dabsi area around 10.15 am.

Four Pakistani soldiers were killed in a mortar attack by Indian forces along the Line of Control in the disputed Kashmir region as tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours continue to rise.

"Pakistan Army has been continuously trying to help terrorists sneak into India along LoC", he told soldiers in a speech.

On Monday, the Indian Army hit back at Pakistan in retaliation to the unprovoked firing.

Pakistan recently blasted India as "irresponsible" after General Rawat claimed he was ready to call the country's "nuclear bluff". "Every citizen of India has unwavering trust and pride in our Army, which protects the nation and is also at the forefront of humanitarian efforts during times of natural disasters and other accidents", he said.
