John Dickerson, anchor of "Face the Nation", joins Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell as a co-host on "CBS This Morning".

More than a month after CBS This Morning fired Charlie Rose over sexual misconduct claims, the network has named his replacement. Conservative white men sue Google for discrimination
Google terminated Damore for the memo, saying it was contrary to the company's basic values and code of conduct. In August, Google fired Damore for " perpetuating gender stereotypes ".

The move illustrates the importance of morning programs to network news divisions, where they are the most reliable profit centers. Dickerson will move to NY as part of this new duties, and is expected to cede the "Nation" spot to a new anchor, Rhodes said in a memo to staff Tuesday. "I've worked alongside John for nearly 20 years, and this is a great way to continue our mission of putting the news back in the morning". It's not known if Dickerson would continue his Sunday talk show, a role he's filled since 2015 after taking over for Bob Schieffer.

Dickerson, 49, joined CBS in 2009 as an analyst and contributor and by 2011 was named the network's political director.

He said that he'll be in Washington later this week to begin the process of finding Dickerson's replacement there.

Claire Foy , Matt Smith , and Vanessa Kirby- and Matthew Goode-will be replaced in Season 3 by older actors. For Carter, playing a member of the royal family is not entirely new territory.

Dickerson, now host of the long-running Sunday public affairs show "Face the Nation", will "transition off" that program in the coming weeks, then a successor will be named, according to CBS. CBS THIS MORNING is in its closest competitive position with "Today" in at least three decades and in almost two decades.
