Sopore: Four cops killed in IED blast

Asserting that Sopore Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast was the first such attack after a gap of more than two years in the Valley, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, Muneer Khan said security agencies will devise a way to tackle this situation. Three shops were damaged in the blast, eyewitnesses said.

The security forces launched cordon and search operation in the area after the blast but no arrests were made. But it was not immediately known which group carried out the attack.

The spokesperson claimed that five forces' personnel were killed and several others suffered injuries in the attack.
