The number of sexual assaults reported within the USA military increased from 2013 to 2016, according to new data from the Defense Department, released Friday.

The number of reports doesn't necessarily mean the alleged incident occurred at that installation, but rather point to where the service member is getting assistance with their sexual assault report.

The Department of Defense released data that showed the number of non-domestic sexual assault reports managed or received by Sexual Assault Response Coordinators.

With President Donald Trump, some people do think that his Twitter and overall personality could make a nuclear exchange more likely.

Sexual assaults reported on San Diego Marine bases in 2016 totaled 212 and represented 26% of all sexual assaults investigated by the Corps. They include active-duty service members, activated Reserve and National Guard troops and civilians who allege assaults by active-duty military personnel.

In fiscal year 2015, the post had 164 unrestricted reports and 31 restricted reports for a total of 195.

The Department of Defense defines sexual assaults as adult sex-related crimes punishable under its Uniform Code of Military Justice. There were 24 reports at the Naval Academy in 2016 and 20 at Andrews. The newly released numbers cover the years 2013 through 2016.

Indonesia, South Korea Upgrade Strategic Partnership
The Moon-Xi meeting came after months of dispute caused by China's protest against the deployment of the THAAD missile defense system in South Korea.

"Whether it is through victim assistants keeping constant contact, intensive unit training that includes what happens after a report, or by leader focused training that takes into account signs of retaliation and vulnerability, we must dedicate ourselves to providing an environment that encourages victims to report and supports them through the process", Piatt said. That means the numbers could reflect an incident that occurred while on deployment, while away on leave or even prior to entering the military.

Other bases that recorded higher numbers included Fort Hood, a U.S. Army Base in Killeen, Texas, that fielded 199 reports of sexual assault previous year, and Camp Lejeune, a Marine base in Jacksonville, N.C., that received 169 reports.

The Air Force and Navy were the only two that recorded an increase in reports. To report restricted allows the victim to seek medical services and advocacy with confidentiality. The department reported that prevalence rates among active duty women went from 6.1 percent in 2012 to 4.3 percent previous year. Meanwhile, an unrestricted report is referred for criminal investigation and to commanders. The Air Force changed from 1,009 reports in 2015 to 1,043 in 2016, while the Navy went up from 1,243 in 2015 to 1,285 in 2016.
