IGP reiterates 'commitment' to local militants who want to 'rejoin their families'

Speaking to the media, the Inspector General of Police said, "One local militant, Atta Mohammad Malik, was badly injured during the encounter and could have died but the jawans, despite losing one of their associates in the encounter, rushed him (the militant) to the hospital, where he is now out of danger".

Pertinently, a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant and an army man were killed during the gunfight that eruptd on Monday evening in the same area. "So the search operation is on", he said. Khan was addressing a press conference while presenting the nabbed militants before the media.

The police chief said that they were working on the policy for rehabilitation of the militants, who want to join back their families.

The other two arrested militants are identified as Shams ul Wiqar and Bilal Sheikh. According to Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan is using social media to recruit militants in Kashmir valley.
