Khamenei urges European Union to stand against USA on nuclear deal issue

The move put Washington at odds with other parties to the accord, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China and the European Union, who say Washington can not unilaterally cancel a multilateral accord enshrined by a United Nations resolution.

Europe, firstly, needs to stand against the US' practical measures regarding the JCPOA, Khamenei said, adding, "Secondly, they should not interfere the Islamic Republic's defense issues".

Mr. Khamenei said: "they must avoid interfering in our defence programme. We do not think it is acceptable for the Europeans to join America in its bullying".

"We welcome such stances, but it is not enough that they only ask the U.S. not to scrap the deal", Ayatollah Khamenei added, noting that the JCPOA is to their benefit. Why do you have missiles yourselves? It has called on Tehran not to develop missiles capable of delivering nuclear bombs.
