But the phone doesn't have the classic BlackBerry keyboard. BlackBerry Motion is a little like the "KEYone" smartphone that was launched by the company earlier this year.

The phone formerly known as Krypton has not officially launched as the BlackBerry Motion.

It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display as opposed to the Keyone's 4.5-inch (1080 x 1620 pixels) screen. The home button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner and has a bit of style to it due to the brand's logo.

What's more, it has dethroned the likes of Apple iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to sit on the top of DxOMark chart. Following the trend, Google has also ditched the 3.5mm audio-jack and the audio is routed through a headphone adaptor.

Under-the-hood, the smartphone is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM. But there are some significant additions that might help the device to be a level up.

Fitted with a massive 4000mAh non-removable battery that comes with a Quick Charge 3.0 support, and a USB Type-C port. Pricing and other details are yet to be revealed. Its next model, the Motion, has made an appearance at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai. The device announced today is a pure touchscreen smartphone and it's clearly just for BlackBerry's core customers as the company largely left hardware in the past. So we can expect Motion to be introduced in the western markets at a later stage.

To some extent, you might see the BB Motion as the most boring BlackBerry phone of late.

The new Motion aims to take that further with an even larger 4,000mAh unit that is rated to push 32 hours of mixed use. The device features a water-resistant build with the IP67 rating. Comes with Android 7.1, the BlackBerry Motion will the security suite DTEK and he will benefit from all the optimizations home of Blackberry.
