Dreamers Protest Pelosi Over Trump Deal: 'We Are Not Your Bargaining Chip'

It was imposed by executive action in 2012 under President Barack Obama and rescinded by the Trump administration on September 5, but a six-month window was provided to give Congress time to address the issue.

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi speaks with Sac State President Robert Nelsen during the press conference in the University Union Redwood Room Monday.

On Monday, protesters went after Pelosi for working across the aisle with President Donald Trump to reach an understanding on the future of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which benefits undocumented immigrant children born outside the USA who are now living in the country illegally.

Granted, there's value for Democrats in pinning down Trump and sowing division among Republicans. "I think Nancy Pelosi realized that, and she was caught".

"No deal was made last night on DACA". "But you've already traded in our parents in our name".

Buoyed by recent success with Democrats on averting a government shutdown over the debt limit, Trump has turned again to a couple of wily, hardened dealmakers: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of NY and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California.

Sisi applauded efforts exerted by the United Nations chief since he took the office, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef reported. There were reports Mr Netanyahu and his team were dismayed that Mr Trump emphasised the issue during the meeting.

He continued, "We can not say, however, that we are surprised".

Trump's fiery rhetoric and promise to seal the USA border with Mexico attracted millions of supporters in last year's election, many of them older white conservatives like the ones who repeatedly elected immigration hard-liner Joe Arpaio as sheriff here in Maricopa County.

"Where was your resistance then?" they asked. Not the Democrats! We extend our arms in struggle to our parents and our loved ones.

"You know, we're $20 trillion in debt". You have sacrificed everything, how could we forget? Prematurely announcing a "deal to make a deal" has given Trump the veneer of bipartisanship without him actually earning it.

Now, as a result of the dinner, media reports say that Trump is inching closer to reaching a deal with Democrats that would protect as many as 800,000 young undocumented immigrants from deportation.

"We undocumented youth demand a clean bill". This was in reference to the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants now living in the USA, of which DACA enrollees comprise roughly 800,000.

He told the Financial Times : "From my personal point of view, I think he should have kept his mouth shut, quite simply". She also confirmed that Downing Street had not given Mr Johnson's magnum-opus the go-ahead.

"We are not your bargaining chip", they yelled at the event, which Pelosi held with Reps. "We are!" they shouted. Pelosi tried to respond, with no result. "You are a liar!". She left after 30 minutes, and got few words in according to media accounts on Twitter.

Pelosi told reporters that Democrats "have been having meetings constantly with the leadership of the groups that represent the DREAMers" and "other immigrant groups".

"They call us Dreamers, but our ability to dream was taken away from us", Hernandez said. "We have to save the DREAMers". We have disagreed with many of his decisions.

"We're there, we're part of this world community of nations".

Despite lingering illusions in a legislative path to "immigration reform" through pressure on the Democrats, the protest as a whole struck a sharply anti-Democratic Party chord. "He's for his own personal interest". The only way forward for workers-immigrant and native born-is through an independent, global mobilization, in opposition to the entire capitalist system.

The state's Medicaid plan now gets about $8.5 billion a year in federal funding, according to its July report to the Legislature. On a personal level, McMaster declining to support Graham's health care gambit could be viewed as a slight to a longtime friend.
