After destroying "Le Chateau des Palmiers", Trump's 11-bedroom mansion located on the Caribbean island of St. Martin (as well as Richard Branson's home on his private island), the storm has South Florida in its crosshairs.

Three of the 12 Trump-named USA golf courses are in south Florida and due for impact, as well as Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, dubbed his "Winter White House".

Mr Trump said he received a $17m insurance payment in 2005 for damage at his Mar-a-Lago resort caused by Hurricane Wilma, but digging by the Associated Press found "little evidence" of large-scale damage to the property. "I've spoken to FEMA, the Department of Energy, EPA and the White House about waiving federal rules and regulations to get as much fuel as possible into our state and through our ports", Scott continued.

The president, who is 71, is unlikely to be around to see that happen.

Nissan adds range to cheaper Leaf, but new drivers are key
This should provide the Leaf with upwards of 200 miles of range, Nissan says, putting it on par with the Bolt and Model 3 ranges. The new vehicle features greatly improved range, recording a distance of 235 miles on a single charge during official testing.

"As Hurricane Irma approaches, my Administration is working closely with our state and local partners to help save lives, protect families, and assist those in need".

The historic estate is threatened by storm surge.

Trump issued a video statement on the storm early Friday morning, asking "everyone in the storm's path to be vigilant and heed all recommendations from government officials and law enforcement".

"Nothing is more important than the safety and security of our people". To address these concerns, we're doing the following.
