England lead this three-match series 1-0 after thrashing the West Indies by an innings and 209 runs in the first Test at Edgbaston.

Broad should have struck in the fourth over of the morning, following a 15-minute delayed start due to drizzle, when Brathwaite, on 4, edged a lifting delivery towards first slip but it burst through the hands of Alastair Cook.

Shortly after, Kyle Hope was walking back to the pavilion as he was run out by Broad for a duck in an unlucky manner.

"I must not forget Kraigg Brathwaite, outstanding again".

McGregor claims Mayweather 'out of shape'
McGregor's MMA fight record stands at 24 bouts, 21 wins and three defeats - 18 of those victories have come via knockout. But Trudeau doesn't think it's going to be a spectacular fight to watch.

However, Brathwaite and Shai Hope, who both scored centuries in the first innings total of 427, put on 144 for the third wicket to settle some nerves.

With the West Indies in cruise control, England were beginning to worry as the tourists were edging ever closer to victory.

Yet when Moeen Ali tempted Brathwaite into a drive just before tea to have him caught at first slip by Ben Stokes for 95, it left this most excellent of contests on an even sharper knife edge.

Stuart Broad had a hand in both wickets to fall on the final morning at Headingley - literally in the case of a freakish run out of Kyle Hope - but Kraigg Brathwaite escaped two dropped catches to continue his outstanding match. Soon after, Hope reached his hundred and the pair carried on without much fuss - although Blackwood hit Broad for another six - to within two runs of victory when Blackwood tried to finish it in style off Moeen but was stumped for 41.

89 killed in attack on police posts in Rakhine
On Thursday, Myanmar government claimed that Rohingyas coordinated attacks on 24 police posts and tried to enter a military base. The Rohingya are a Muslim ethnic minority of Myanmar who live in the western state of Rakhine .

It proved the one that got away as Brathwaite rode his luck to contribute a further match-shaping 91 runs in a crucial stand with Hope, who was also grassed by Cook after he had passed his hundred, the final nail in England's coffin. Fifth day, on a used wicket against high-quality bowling, great knock [from Shai Hope].

"[He's got] plenty of courage, plenty of character and plenty of determination, and he played really well".

This was also, excluding fixtures against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, just the West Indies fourth Test win away from home in 88 matches spanning 20 years. I sent a text in our team chat this morning, "just believe". I'm extremely proud of these two guys, they worked very hard and it's paying off. We've come up playing a lot of cricket together for Barbados. "It's just about delivering on the big stage and no better time [than] to come to England and do it".

Hope was named Man of the Match, and said: "I feel elated".
