Powerball lottery jackpot grows to $535 million, 5 largest in history

The Powerball Jackpot just got even bigger, growing to $535 million for Saturday's drawing. Tickets will remain on sale in Pennsylvania until 9:59 p.m. Saturday.

"While it can be fun to play for a big jackpot like this, it only takes one ticket to win", said Alice Garland, the lottery's executive director. Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $18.7 billion to the state.

California, Delaware, Florida, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming do not assess taxes on lottery prizes, according to the website.
