Sensex Up By 90 Points at 31861, Nifty Reclaims 9900 Mark

On Thursday, the equity benchmarks ended on a flat note after the indices erased gains in the last hour of trading.

"For Infosys, the buyback will lead to higher RoE and payout ratio". Infosys drove gains in the Nifty IT index, which climbed as much as 1.4 percent in its biggest intraday percentage gain in almost a month.

The stock hit an intra-day high of 1028 and low of 998 on the BSE.

Transfer window change to be voted on by clubs
One consideration is whether Premier League clubs will be weaker if the summer window closes in the middle of August. If all goes well, the next summer transfer window might close before Premier League 2017-18 season commences.

Metal stocks were buzzing on the bourses on Thursday's trade. Indias second-biggest software services exporter Infosys received approval from SEBI on share buyback proposal to be considered in meeting to be held on August 19.

There were 907 advances, 725 declines and 328 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a mild positive undertone floating in the market.

Sentiment was also upbeat across global markets with Asian shares advancing as tensions between the United States and North Korea came off the boil, although the Federal Reserve's concerns about weak USA inflation weighed on the dollar.

North Korea was ranked 18th among China's foreign iron ore suppliers last year, although volumes have jumped this year. However, the start of a United States inquiry would not immediately result in open confrontation.

The Sensex is trading at 31,513.07 points up by 64.04 points or 0.20 percent. The flagship BSE Sensex too climbed 128.43 points, or 0.39 per cent, to trade at new record high of 32,374.30, breaking its previous record high of 32,320.86 reached in yesterday's trade.

HDFC Bank fell 0.7% after lowering interest rate on savings accounts by 50 basis points to 3.50% on balance of up to five million rupees. The apex court upheld an order by the Delhi High Court which allowed the company to use land at Delhi airport for non-aviation or commercial purposes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.12% to end at 22,024.87 points, the S&P 500 gained 0.14% to 2,468.11 points and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.19%, to 6,345.11 points. It was followed by NTPC (up 4.06 per cent), Coal India (up 3.80 per cent), Vedanta (up 2.32 per cent) and BPCL (up 2.12 per cent).
