The trial, which began Monday, is the latest event in a drawn-out legal battle between Swift and Mueller.

Swift is now a party to an action that is taking place in the federal court system in Denver, Colorado.

Lawyers for Swift, who countersued David Mueller, now will have their turn to call witnesses. Each side of the trial has attempted to use the photo to bolster their argument, but Swift rejected McFarland's claim that the photo showed nothing inappropriate. Mueller claims Swift's team is the reason why he lost his job.

Call said Swift's liaison to radio stations, Frank Bell, told him Swift's team was "outraged ... very upset" by what happened and was considering all options, including alerting the police.

The photograph of Swift, Mueller and his girlfriend at the pre-show meet-and-greet shows the morning presenter on radio station KYGO with his hand behind the singer. "I'm not going to let you or your client make me feel like this is my fault".

Mueller says his hand was touching Swift's skirt after he put his arm around her and their arms got crossed. She said she saw nothing happen during the brief encounter and that she and Mueller were rudely confronted and escorted out of the arena that evening.

Similarly, when two teenagers in Steubenville, Ohio, were found guilty in 2013 of raping a 16-year-old girl, they received an outpouring of public sympathy.

The Shake It Off and I Knew You Were Trouble singer, however, later complained and Mr Dent confronted Mr Mueller at the event.

Melchor says Mueller was devastated by the accusation.

"He stayed attached to my bare ass cheek as I lurched away from him, ' she explained before admitting she 'got as far away from him as I possibly could".

According to court transcripts, the lawyer repeatedly asked Swift how she felt about Mueller losing his job as a result of the incident, Glamour reports. She is seeking a symbolic $1, saying she wants to serve as an example to other women who have been assaulted.
