WFMJ reports that Arturo Novoa, 31, and Katrina Layton, 34, were taken into custody over the weekend.

Police in Campbell and Youngstown are investigating a body found in a freezer at a Campbell home Saturday night. The friend had no idea there was a body inside since the freezer had been padlocked.

Novoa and Layton are both in the Mahoning County jail on $1 million bond following their arraignments Monday in municipal court.

Authorities believe the woman is 28-year-old Shannon Graves, who's been missing since February.

Authorities suspect it's a missing woman named Shannon Graves. Evidence that supported this presumption included Novoa being caught using Graves' auto and Graves' cell phone being in possession of Novoa's new live-in girlfriend, Layton.

Once Layton moved into Graves's home, she drove her auto, used her cellphone and used her food card, according to Lantz. The landlord's wife became suspicious after seeing the freezer was padlocked, and made a decision to break in. Police are awaiting official identification of the body and its cause of death. She insisted the new freezer was designated for storing food in their new residence and claimed they opted to use a freezer instead of a refrigerator. Graves was then listed as a missing person on the Ohio Attorney General Mark DeWine's website.

While the girlfriend swap was not a case of identity theft, Lantz said that Layton "basically took over [Graves'] place in Mr. Novoa's life". So far investigators have not identified the body.
