"Say her name!" one man shouted. But it suddenly escalated with the officers saying "get back" repeatedly. "They could have taken her down".

Whitcomb also told GeekWire that he was not directed by Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O'Toole or Mayor Ed Murray's office to end outreach with Twitch.

The killing has prompted outrage among many, including Lyles' family, who questioned why the officers couldn't use nonlethal methods to subdue the petite woman, and suggested race played a role. Lyles was black; the officers are white.

Authorities noted the shooting happened less than two weeks after Lyles threatened officers with long metal shears, and family members expressed concerns about her mental health after that incident.

Chelsea 'confident of signing Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko'
Costa signed for the club from Atletico in summer 2014, and is only thinking about moving back to Madrid over anywhere else. Chelsea might have to swallow financial losses as they subsidise Costa's wages and his value diminishes.

"If the officer has time, space and cover, they have more options than using deadly force, but that's not necessarily going to be the case", said Sue Rahr, a former sheriff and the executive director of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.

The officers responded to the apartment after Lyles reported a burglary.

Anderson told investigators, according to the transcript, that he 'was jumping back, uh, kind of sucking my abdomen in trying to avoid getting stabbed in the stomach'.

Over the past year, family members say she had struggled with depression but had sought help.

Family affair: Lakers grab Lonzo Ball with 2nd overall pick
Comparisons to Jason Kidd have followed Ball since high school, and his continued improvement has strengthened its validity. With the Lakers , University of Los Angeles guard Lonzo Ball potentially represents what the Lakers have been seeking.

"The officers immediately performed first aid", but fire medics arrived and determined she had died, the police department said in a statement Sunday afternoon.

'I don't know at what point she changed her focus from, from me to Steve, um, but as she started turning the corner to go after Steve, that's when I, um, that's when I shot'. "And that's why we have to say, once again, murder is murder is murder is murder". 'She, I didn't see her movement, but when she landed on the floor she landed face down'.

Lyles, whom relatives called "Leena", grew up in Seattle and was largely raising two boys and two girls on her own - including a 4-year girl with Down syndrome - but she had a supportive network of siblings, cousins, aunts and others, Williams said.

Three children were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, police said. Lyles asks in the call, which lasted over 3 minutes and was made at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, about 45 minutes before she was shot to death. Anderson said he told McNew he didn't have a Taser. "They could have used other (less lethal) force".
