"I know of your efforts and the president's efforts and I look forward to working with you to reach these common goals", he continued, adding that he sends his warmest regards to President Trump. Trump met with Netanyahu and Abbas in hopes of making what he calls the ultimate deal.

"Part of that reality included reports President Trump shouted at Abbas in their recent meeting in Bethlehem".

Kushner was accompanied to the meeting by the USA ambassador to Israel, David Friedman; Jason Greenblatt, President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East; and Israel's ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer. "But with determination, compromise, and the belief that peace is possible, Israelis and Palestinians can make a deal", Trump said during a speech at the Israel Museum. But ahead of his last election victory in 2015, he promised there would never be a Palestinian state on his watch, a remark seen as an attempt to shore up right-wing support. Envoy Jason Greenblatt has already made several visits.

Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his office in Jerusalem.

But during a February meeting with Mr Netanyahu in Washington DC, Mr Trump declared that he was not fixed on two states saying, "I'm looking at two-state and one-state, and I like the one that both parties like".

Earlier in the day, Kushner paid a visit to the grieving family of Hadas Malka, the 23-year-old border officer murdered last Friday in a shooting and stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City by a Palestinian assailant.

According to a Malka family spokesperson, Kushner, who was accompanied by US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, spent roughly 30 minutes with her parents during the shiva (week-long family mourning period in Judaism) call.

"Kushner said that President Trump himself asked him to express condolences on behalf of the USA", a friend of the family told the Hebrew-language Ynet news site.
