Cleveland police were due to give more details at a news conference on Tuesday afternoon.

As his vehicle was spinning out of control due to the maneuver, Stephens pulled out a pistol and shot himself in the head.

The authorities had been searching for Stephens for two days when local police spotted him in Erie County, Pennsylvania Tuesday morning.

Stephens' vehicle sustained minor damage after a trooper couldn't stop in time and hit the auto, but no other injuries to law enforcement were reported.

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Steve Stephens, the OH man who shot and killed 74-year-old Robert Godwin on Sunday and then uploaded a video of the slaying to Facebook, is dead. The chilling video was on Facebook for three hours before it was taken down.

Lane also said she has received support from many, including her family, her boss, and even strangers like two daughters of 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr., who police say Stephens gunned down on Easter. "We will keep doing all we can to prevent tragedies like this from happening", he said.

Police would not speculate on what was behind the killing, but videos Stephens posted showed him talking about losing everything he had to gambling and trouble with his girlfriend.

Stephens claimed that he didn't know Godwin, and said during his broadcasts that he was hunting for random people due to troubles with a girlfriend as well as his mother. However, she said she still forgives him.

"We are in the early stages of this", Williams said.
