Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will take a second crack at National Basketball Association history Friday night when he seeks a record-breaking 42nd triple-double against a team that has offered him little resistance this season, the Phoenix Suns. Entering Friday night's matchup, Westbrook was averaging 41.7 points, 13.7 assists and 13.7 rebounds in three games against them this year.

If Westbrook played the same amount of time as Robertson, he'd have the best statistical season in National Basketball Association history, and it wouldn't even be close - 40.3 points, 13.6 rebounds, 13.2 assists.

His triple-double quest began on opening week, when he posted 51 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists against the Suns on October 28. "If I wanted to get 10 assists I could get 10 assists".

After almost every game, triple-double or not, Westbrook deals with reporters asking him whether he's chasing stats or not.

At least 1 dead after shooting near mall in South Florida
He wounded Janine Ackerman, 35, the gym's general manager and Mario Hortis, 42, a fitness manager, witnesses said. The shooting occurred around 1pm at the Shops at Merrick Park mall.

Rookie Jamal Murray scored a season-high 30 points and Nikola Jokic added 23 and 12 rebounds as Denver whipped New Orleans. I think there was maybe a stoppage of play around 3:45, 3:40, somewhere around that point. But the Suns ended the quarter on an 18-6 run of their own and restored their lead to 23 points at the end of the quarter at 95-72 on a Derrick Jones Jr. jumper with 0.2 of a second left. The Thunder wrap up their regular season at home against the Nuggets next Wednesday.

"Whoever is in the game has to know what they're doing on both ends of the floor", he said. "But [I] just wanna give him and our team every opportunity to try to have a chance to win".

Late in the game, Westbrook passed up two wide open 3-point shots, passing the ball in an apparent attempt to get the assists and the record.

While Westbrook did clinch a bit of history on Friday night, he's certainly not done as he's looking to make a little more as the game progresses.

Putin: Criticism of Russia protest arrests is 'interference'
No, '" Putin said, referring to Reagan when it was, in fact, former President George H.W. Putin warned of the extreme danger of this provocative campaign.

Six Suns scored in double figures and the team shot 52 percent from the field. Nobody played defense back in the 60s, and the Royals finished seventh (out of nine) in points per game allowed (121.3) and eighth in defensive efficiency (96.9 points per 100). Alex Abrines is out tomorrow while Andre Roberson is questionable with a sore knee but I'm sticking with the Thunder to get the win and cover in this one.

The Pistons used a 12-1 spurt, capped by four points from Marjanovic, to cut the lead to 94-93 midway through the fourth quarter. The Oklahoma City Thunder have the ninth-quickest pace (97.8) mostly because of Westbrook, but the fact that he's been able to reign in a triple-double for the season is staggering because of his low-minutes allocation. It would also mean that Westbrook would pass Wilt Chamberlain for fourth on the all-time triple-double list.
